Angélica López is an emerging artist from Comitán de Domínguez

Angélica López was born on March 21, 1994, in the city of Comitán de Domínguez, Chiapas. As a child she became interested in painting and drawing; with just seven years he joined a painting workshop at the Dalí Gallery, taught by the teacher Aurora, in the city of Comitán. At the age of twelve she entered the La Rueda workshop, with Professor Bernabé; experience that allowed her to develop more professional skills and knowledge about painting and drawing.She was part of this workshop for six years, a period in which she participated in painting contests organized by the DGti, belonging to CBTis 108 of Comitán.

This learning process influenced her determination to continue his studies in the Bachelor of Visual Arts at the Universidad de Ciencias y Artes de Chiapas. Angelica completed her bachelor’s degree in two years, after which she left the training because she did not meet her expectations. Although this period of university education reinforced his pictorial skills, the curriculum of such training was not satisfying his formative interests After she abandoned university, the next two years, Angelica continued with her training in a self-taught way, during that period she participated in solo and group exhibitions at the Nanishaw art gallery in Comitán.She also collaborated as a research assistant in the History Department of the Museum of History and Anthropology (INAH), an institution run by the historian María Trinidad Pulido Solís.

It was in 2017 when she return to her academic training, entering the Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Universitario Bauhaus in the city of Puebla, where she founded, satisfactorily, a formative approach directed towards contemporary art. In the same year she met the teacher Arturo Negrete Cuéllar of 75 ° Color, as well as the illustrator José Quintero and the painter Alejandro Martínez, Cd. De Oaxaca; with whom she developed intimate and productive relations of work and friendship, sustained to date.
